도심 한복판에서 재탄생한 풍류방 문화 !
‘Pungryubang Culture Reincarnated in the Middle of the City !

’경우소리시리즈‘는 만남과 이별, 연인과의 사랑, 만물의 이치, 자연 탐방 등 시대를 불문하고 인간사의 가장 보편적인 이야기들이 수백 년 동안 서민들에 입과 귀로 재생산되었던 민요에 담겨 있었고, 이를 통해 현대인들과 소통하고 표현하고자 만들어진 프로젝트입니다. 첫 번째 작품 ‘풍류-歌 좋다’는 조선조와 20세기, 예인들과 서민들이 신분 구분 없이 만나 민족 예술을 나누던 장소 ‘풍류방’ 문화를 경기소리라는 매개체로써 현대 풍류를 선보인 공연입니다. 도심 속 한복판에서 함께 즐기고자 ‘풍류(風流)’에 ‘노래 가(歌)’를 더해 풍류 노래, ‘풍류-가’라는 이름이 붙었습니다.

‘풍류가-좋다’는 일관된 하나의 스토리를 지니고 있는데, 남경우의 풍류방에 찾아온 손님들과 새롭게 재구성된 경기소리를 감상한다는 콘셉트가 중심입니다. 특히 우리 삶 주변에 존재해왔던 것들을 전통 소리인 민요와 잡가로써 힐링과 공감대를 형성한다는 점이 독특한 매력으로 작용하였습니다.

이번 공연에서 총괄을 맡은 남경우는 각 소리가 상징하는 이야기들을 관객들에게 더욱 쉽게 전달하기 위해 다양한 요소를 기획하였습니다. 시각적으로는 곡 주제에 맞는 미디어아트를 활용하고 청각적으로는 기성 반주의 틀에서 벗어난 작·편곡을 진행하였습니다. 이러한 요소들은 경기소리의 고유성을 지키는 동시에 하루일과 속 안팎으로 즐겼던 우리의 풍류 문화 그리고 경기소리의 이야기를 설명하며 관객과 함께 공감하고 즐기는 것에 이바지하였습니다.

본 작품은 ‘경기예술 생애 첫 지원‘ 선정 작품으로 경기도·경기문화재단의 후원을 받았으며 초연 후 서울 종로에 있는 은덕문화원 상설 공연에 초청되었습니다. 수도권의 보다 많은 관객과 다양한 연령층을 대상으로 하여 만남으로써 오늘날의 풍류방에서 현대적으로 재해석된 경기소리를 나눌 수 있는 좋은 기회가 되었습니다.

‘Kyoeogwoo sori(song) Series’ is a project created to communicate and express the most common stories of human history in folk songs that have been reproduced by the common people for hundreds of years, such as meeting and separation, love with lovers, the reason of everything, and nature exploration.

The first work “Pungryu song is good” is a performance that presents modern Pungryu as a medium of Gyeonggi sori(folk music), a place where artists and ordinary people met in the Joseon Dynasty and the 20th century and shared national art regardless of their status. In order to enjoy together in the middle of the city, it was named Pungryu-ga, a Pungryu song, by adding “歌” to Pungryuga(Pungryusong).”

Nam Kyeong-woo, who is in charge of the performance, planned various elements to more easily convey the stories symbolized by each sound to the audience. Visually, media art that fits the theme of the song was used, and audibly, the composition were conducted outside the framework of the ready-made accompaniment. These factors contributed to empathizing and enjoying with the audience by explaining the story of our Pungryu culture and Gyeonggi sound that we enjoyed in and out of Gyeonggi-do while protecting the uniqueness of traditional music.

This work was selected as the First Support in the Life of Gyeonggi Arts” and was sponsored by the Gyeonggi-do and Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation and was invited to a permanent performance at the Eundeok Cultural Center in Jongno, Seoul after its premiere.” It was a great opportunity to share the modern reinterpreted sound of the game in today’s Pungryubang by meeting with a wider audience and various age groups in the metropolitan area
