◆시놉시스 Synopsis
바다 같이 넓고도 넓은 세상, 그 사이 파도에 의해 떠밀려 가는 배가 있다. 인간은 가고 싶은 곳을 향해 파도를 가르고 때론 파도를 타며 끊임없이 노를 젓는다. 현대인들은 각자의 배를 타고 오늘도 치열하게 다투고 있지 않을까?

A wide and wide world like the sea, in the meantime, there is a ship being pushed by the waves. Humans cut the waves toward where they want to go, and sometimes they ride the waves and row constantly. Aren’t modern people fighting fiercely in their own boats today as well?

◆ 음악 및 영상소개 Introducing Music and Video

경상도 민요 ‘뱃노래’를 기반한 작품 〈‘CHA-CHA’〉는 현대인의 삶 속에 비춰진 내적 갈등을 표현하는 것에 중점을 두었다. 음악적으로 E.Guitar와 거문고, 동해안 별신굿 장구의 사운드를 결합하여 반복되는 선율들 속에 제의(祭儀)적 성격을 구축하였고, 민요 ‘뱃노래’가 현세의 삶의 현장으로 확장되며 서사적인 느낌을 받을 수 있는 스토리텔링을 형성하고자 했다. 영상 속에서는 다양한 Visual FX(Visual Effects)를 구현함으로써 알 수 없는 존재에게 쫓기는 인간과 그의 내적 갈등을 각기 다른 색의 장면으로 표현하는 것에 중점을 두었다. 현실(인지 및 회피)-〉비현실(고뇌)-〉현실(해소)의 액자식 구조를 통해 시청자들이 직감적으로 노래와 영상을 이해하고 느낄 수 있는 MV의 특성을 부각하였다. 현대인이 가지고 있는 고뇌를 마주하고 해소되는 과정을 보여주는 긍정적인 결말은 반복되는 삶의 순환에 지나지 않는다. 그럼에도 나아가는 우리의 모습이 있기에 내일의 두려움을 ‘나’라는 존재로 솔직하게 맞이할 수 있는 것이 아닐까?

The work “CHA-CHA” based on the Gyeongsang-province folk song “Baet-norae( boatman’s song)” focused on expressing the inner conflict reflected in the lives of modern people. Musically, E. Guitar, Geomungo, and East Coast Byeolsingut Janggu were combined to build a ritualistic character in the repetitive melodies, and the folk song “Baet-norae” was expanded to the scene of the present life to form a storytelling that could feel epic. In the video, the focus was on expressing a human being chased by an unknown being and his inner conflict in scenes of different colors by realizing various Visual FX(Visual Effects).Through the framed structure of reality (cognition and avoidance)-〉non-reality (agony)-〉reality (resolve), the characteristics of MVs that viewers can intuitively understand and feel songs and videos are highlighted. A positive ending that shows the process of facing and resolving the anguish of modern people is nothing more than a repetitive cycle of life. Nevertheless, since there is an image of us moving forward, isn’t it possible to face tomorrow’s fear honestly with the existence of ‘Me’?
